Lock-in at THE WEB

Hey guys and gals,

About a year ago I had the opportunity to take my teens to an all night
lock-in. This Lock-In was held at THE WEB Extreme in Liberty Township,
Ohio. THE WEB is the Tri-State’s newest and most exciting entertainment
center that includes, duck bowling, putt putt golf, laser-tag, go carts,
video games, cafe and meeting rooms all in one place. Jerry, Ruth and
staff took care of everything for one price to the students, all I had
to do was hang out with my students. They even allowed myself and
volunteers to attend free of charge.

I have remained good friends with Jerry and after sitting down and
discussing the future of lock-ins he wanted to give you guys a gift for
simply ministering to teens and the hopes of you bringing your students
to a lock in.

So on May 3rd from 11:30am to 1:30pm he is inviting you to come experience
THE WEB Extreme for free, to experience ALL the attractions. What could
be more fun than 50 student ministry pastors taking 2 hours off to have
some fun racing, shooting, putting and bowling? Did I mention that he
will be feeding us lunch also?

What Happen when Churches work together

The Network Coordinator for Harrison OH, Emily Richardson, wants to share what is happening in Harrison network. This is a great story that shows what happens when the Body of Christ works together. With her approval here her email she sent me.

For several months now, the youth pastors and senior pastors have been meeting in separate ministerials- well the last two months, we decided to join together to have a meal together and worship/pray together as church leaders in the Harrison area before breaking off in our groups to talk about how to reach our community.

The prayer and worship time today was so powerful and it was awesome to see how the senior pastors came around the youth pastors to pray for them, put an encouraging arm around their shoulders, and then to also pray for our community together as leaders. It really brought to my mind the scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that says- “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We are so excited about what the Lord is doing in our community and how the leaders from over 15 different churches/denominations are coming together in Harrison to make This city, His city—THIS CITY- (complete with yard signs and t-shirts- so people in the community know others from other churches and so people who even don’t know the Lord might start asking what it’s about) in order to truly become something more like the CHURCH of Harrison rather than individual groups doing their own thing. Both the youth and head pastors are working on combined events to help make this happen.

GCYWN is now on the YS (Youth Specialties) Network intranet. This is another way communities can communicate to other youth workers. It is also a way youth workers can share prayer requests, exchange resources, and discuss topics that are important to them. This is online now and in the spring it will be in app for the smartphone.

National Network Forum on December 8th

Dear NNYM Friends,

I would like to cordially invite you to a National Network Forum on December 8Th. The Network Forum will be held at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene in Grove City, Ohio located on 4770 Hoover Rd., and will begin at the crack of 10am and run until 3pm. Our special guest for our Network Forum is Doug Clark, who is our National Ministries Director for The National Network of Youth Ministries. A FREE lunch will be provided!

What is the purpose of all of this? For the past couple of years, The National Network of Youth Ministries has been asking hard questions about how we can better reach kids. We talk about that “every kid, in every school, and in every community should be given the opportunity to make an informed decision for Christ.”

This is where you come in. I am not inviting you to the latest program about how NNYM is going to accomplish this goal. Rather, we want to have a dialog with you on how we can best do this.

NNYM does have some ideas that will be communicated that we have initially called “Communities 4 Hope,” but we need to hear from you! How do we in Ohio reach every kid, in every school and in every community?

December 8Th is a great opportunity to gather, and see how the Lord is working in our state. What you are doing to reach kids is invaluable. Your attendance at this National Network Forum is also invaluable!
